The Wavrydr increases social interaction.
While
visiting a sports bar in Fort Myers, Fl, I soon
became aware of wireless TV listening boxes
customers were using to be able to hear their games
on television. These boxes had speakers on them. One
table had four people listening to three games at
once and after they all had turned the volume on
their own receiver full clockwise, the next step for
one patron was to hold the speaker to his ear like a
ghetto blaster so to wash out the din from the
adjacent receivers. Hardly an environment for
conversing as you watch a game. As much of a
nightmare as one can envision this scene to be, the
benefits still outweighed the negative aspects.
Automobiles kill 40,000 people a year in this
country and there are still 180 Mil of them on the
road for the same reason.
Not only
has the Wavrydr not caused a patron to meet their
demise (that I am aware of) but all of the negatives
of the radio based speaker system have been
eliminated. The earphones do NOT block sound from
going around them, to be able to hear your friend
next to you. The earphones remove the necessity to
block sound as the din in the room is gone. Just as
high contrast colors in a room feel harsh, so does
the contrast between the loudness of programming you
are not interested in and the none amplified voice
of your friend or companion next to you. Tired of
watching television, no problem, remove the
earpiece. Do your children want to watch Sponge bob?
Let them while you enjoy the food, the brew and the
peace and quite with your friends.
